Take me out to the ballgame...

first run of the game last night scored
scored by Number 2 son!!
I LOVE baseball season. {with the exception of last year, WOW!!} Opening day was this past Saturday, filled with working the concession stand {making 1500 box lunches}, pictures, and game! Oh, and almost losing my life sitting on the top of the metal bleachers and the seat ripping off. My friend Mary {who was sitting right next to me} grabs my arm, LIKE I"M GOING TO BE ABLE TO SAVE US!! thankfully we did not fall off but the seat was completely unattached from the frame!! Despite that excitement the game was exciting and we WON!!

We had another game last night and we WON again {against the boys who made Number 2 son so miserable last year!!} It was a really close game for a while... tit for tat so to speak. But we got a great lead and won 8-3!!

Our games are all during the week which is nice that it leaves our weekends free. Another game Friday night, and the Grandparents will be in town to watch!!

Date Night

We had a "Classical Affair" to attend Friday night. Afterwards we headed out to the hotel for drinks! McSweetie was playing with his new phone and snapped our picture! Aren't we cute? Anyhow... we also went back Saturday after our supper club and met some friends for drinks. They were staying the night for their anniversary {#11} and invited us to have drinks. Well, their was FRED!! Oh my gosh! He was the most drunk most annoying person I had EVER seen!! And I have been to many a band party and College Bar and he was the WORST!!! Eventually he was escorted out of the bar and proceeded to pass out in a chair outside. I wonder what happened to FRED??
{ps... notice the diamonds in my ears... I so hated to part with them. They were an auction item unfortunately that did not get sold. They were pretty pricey but I sure enjoyed wearing them! Too bad they didn't have an LV in the auction! It so would have been MINE!!!}

to Breed or not to Breed Part 2...

well, we have the CUTEST standard poodle friend that lives down the street. he is 6 months old and his name is Truffles! I had asked my neighbor if they would be interested in a play date. so truffles cam down one afternoon {annie was fully protected} and they had a ball. so we know that they get along.

so a week later in the "prime" time, we had truffles come back. oh he was EXCITED. now the vet has told us he is not sure if he is "ready" to be a daddy. but he had ALL THE RIGHT MOVES!! {and if you were wondering... both boys wanted to have no part in this!! number 2 went to a friend's house and number 1 wouldn't even look outside!!}

so we gave them some time and well.... WHO KNOWS??!!!

what I do know is that i am ready for her cycle to be O V E R!!!!! OVER!!!

will keep you posted... they would be soooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!

Ok...

so I NEVER could get the video to upload last week. You'll just have to take my word that the kids played WONDERFULLY!!

So life is just busy. Just when things are going good.. in comes the monkey wrench. Yep! They come... take Monday for example...

Have it all planned out

  • take number 1 son to swim so i can stay and do pilates at 4:30
  • come home eat and shower before taking number 2 son to baseball practice at 6:45
  • go to my MG meeting {that is mandatory}
  • Pick up Number 2 son from baseball around 8:30
  • be home for the night...

New plan...

  • take number 1 son to swim {CHECK}
  • do pilates class {CHECK}
  • get phone message that Number 2 son has a scrimage game and needs to be at ballpark at 6:00 {time now 5:45}
  • call number 2 and tell him to get ready I am picking him up
  • swing home, get supper started, take number 2 to ballpark
  • finish getting supper ready
  • head to meeting
  • eat green beans at meeting {one less thing I have to fix at home :o) }
  • forgot that number 1 son doesn't have to key to get in house and he is going to beat me home
  • call number 1 and say "I think maybe the side door is unlocked so you can get in... If not find a window or hang outside till I get home."
  • Wait at ballpark for scrimage game to end {it's cold AGAIN}
  • Get home and finish making supper... {boys fish was YUMMY... mine??!! we won't go there}
  • BED... Can I please go to bed NOW!!
  • Sleep... cant do it so thank goodness for Netflix and an episode of The Tudors!!

Plan number 1 was so much more user friendly!!

To Breed or not the Breed

That is the question.

Anybody out there have any experience with this?? My "girl" is FINALLY a woman and we are trying to decide if we should breed her back to a standard poodle for the F1B goldendoodle. "Truffles" seems to be a very willing donor. He came to visit the other day {annie was protected} and he seemed to "know" what to do. They had a good time chasing and playing with each other. So know the question is to breed or not?? I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of puppies... {one would be ok with me}

The advantage of the F1B is that is has more of the poodle so it is almost completely a hypoallergenic dog. Our Annie girl sheds somewhat... but really not much. There would be no shedding with this generation. Great for families with allergies... We have had dogs before that when they walked by you just watched the fur land on the carpet.. And our girl DOES NOT SMELL BAD... EVER!!! A dog that doesn't smell bad, yep that would be the goldendoodles!! They are soooooooo sweet natured too. Ours is a little excitable when others are around but you just have to COMPLETELY IGNORE her and she settles down. Hard for small children to understand but great for the adults {unless you have friends that LIKE to get her excited!!}

Will keep you posted... may have PUPPIES for sale in several months!!

Because I just love her so much...

another Audrey Hepburn quote... {this one was on a friends FB status... it will be my status tomorrow!}

Happy Wednesday, y'all!!

Monday, March 8, 2010

Audrey Hepburn...

"Pick the day. Enjoy it - to the hilt. The day as it comes. People as they come... The past, I think, has helped me appreciate the present - and I don't want to spoil any of it by fretting about the future.”

WOW! I love this! I always have said if I could have been anyone at any time... it would be Audrey Hepburn. So REGAL, ELEGANT... I loved her movies.... “My look is attainable. Women can look like Audrey Hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses, and the little sleeveless dresses.” AH {I feel some purchases in my future!!}

So tonight as I was sitting in the kitchen and listening to public television I started quote searching... something that summed up my feelings right at this moment. And the quote above is what I came up with. I love it! Life seems to be a struggle lately more than a joy. Just when you think things can't get any worse, they can. I have for a while been "hohum" about my lot in life and today I had an epiphany... I have a gift.... A GOD given gift. Why am I putting it down... why am I sad? Yes, my life has changed from what it once was... but doesn't life do that? Don't we grow... first we start as a little seed nurished by those who love us{parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends...} we grow a trunk. We grow branches which need pruning to cause new growth for the tree, leaves... which change color with the seasons... sometimes we are tiny like the new buds... then we grow... sometimes we are colorful and other times we are dry and dead. But all the while the tree is still growing... reaching towards the heavens while anchored solidly below. We provide shelter for those who are weary... we are flexible bending with the breeze...

Just sitting here in these few quiet moments with my own thoughts and a little Mary Chapin Carpenter in the background and a love for Audrey Hepburn I now sit with a smile on my face... no fretting here... this day is over and I did not enjoy it to the hilt but the good thing is "tomorrow is another day" Just Another Day on the Bay....

LONG way from home...

well we are on the last stretch of our trip! We have made it to the venue for the Southeastern Theatre Conference. The kids will be performing on Thursday {i think that is tomorrow, i'm so out of touch!!} And then we will begin the trek home. We have had a great time with friends in Music City and had some great swims! Then it was on to visit distant relatives which was a whole lot of fun. Have you heard of Eddie Montgomery's new steakhouse?? Well, we took a tour of it and it is PHENOMENAL! I think I could have been hired on the spot... Roger {the manager} really liked this southernbelle!! HMmmmmmmmmm, i might could swing a career change!! LOL

We are about to check into our hotel... we are well rested.... not sure about the rest of the bus bunch!!

{also made a stop here... LV store... may stop on the way home!!}
