And she and I may have been friends for only a few years but I feel like I have known her forever!! And the kiddos all keep getting older... Christmas morning the boys were looking forward to sleeping in since they get up so early for swim practice they said NO GETTING UP EARLY!! Our gift is SLEEPING IN!! SWEET!!!! We shall see but if God brought it to me HE must think I can do it!! {with His help of course!!} Here's to a BRIGHT NEW YEAR filled with change and Faith in the plans God has in store for our family!!Thursday, December 27, 2012

BEST Staff CHRISTmas Party EVAH!!
So yesterday my boss took us gals out to lunch. Pretty boxes were on the table... With cards. And I assumed I "knew" what was in the card!! After we were finished eating he said he had something for us to do then hands us each $75. We had one hour to spend it ( on ourselves ) and the person coming the closest without going over would win the bonus prize! SWEET! Right up my alley. So we gals started off together but quickly realized that was not a good idea ;-). So one hour later I had bagged two Pandora charms, a magazine for when I finally have some time to sit down and read and a cookie because what day is complete without something sweet!!?? Putting my grand total spent at 75$ exactly!! Alas I was up against stiff competition and another gal spent exactly $75 as well. So with no tie breaker in place we each received the bonus... An additional $25!! Whoop whoop! Had my eye on one other item so I think I will go back and grab it after CHRISTmas!
MERRY MERRY to you and yours!!

Whew!! Gifts are arriving just in time...
To say I have been behind the
would be an underSTATEment!! Cause I have been making a ton of these: I am down to only making 3 more (so much for my self imposed drop dead deadline) But you can't turn friends down can ya?? Thank goodness for ONLINE SHOPPING!! J. Crew, AE, Shutterfly.... Packages arriving daily!! We have to interrupt our festivities for a quick trip home to attend a funeral, my heart is aching for this family! Such sweet precious memories we have. They were like a second family to us. We spent holidays together, trips together, I was even the "tool time girl" for a 50th Birthday Party!! But I am happy to know that he is having the BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!! Fully healed and sitting at his Father's feet!! It's what the season is all about... Christ becoming fully man... living a life we CAN NEVER LIVE and dying the death we all deserve to die... But because HE did all that for us, we can have eternal life. Soli Deo Gloria!! And a VERY MERRY CHRISTmas to ALL!! (in case I don't get back here before then!!)just a thought from a Busy Mom at 12:14 PM 0 friends have left a message for us

Let's Get Real, ok?
I laughed this morning in church as our pastor brought up the "Christmas letters" (which by the way I love to receive) and how WONDERFUL everyone's life has been over the past year. He said one year he was feeling melancholy so he wrote about the struggles they had had over that particular year. He received feedback of appreciation for being real! Well here is REAL for me ....
Let's just look at today...
Woke up early for church. Walked into the bathroom and saw the closet door cracked open. Great that only means one thing DISASTER LIES BEHIND THAT CRACKED DOOR!! And sure enough Chloe had wreaked havoc on the remaining stocking stuffers that Annie had not torn up yesterday. sigh
So I was in charge of organizing the Parent/youth luncheon today. I called Publix yesterday to order the sandwich trays... Arrive at 11:00 and my order had been lost. No sandwiches ready for me. Very graciously the asst. Manager asks what time I need them and assures me he will have them ready in 20 minutes and it will be FREE! Sweet!
Ok, so now with sandwiches in tow and the rest of the "fixins" I am at the church unloading my car. Our youth director comes out to help me (dressed in a very nice suit). I grab a bag with drinks in it, which splits open and the drinks spew open COMPLETELY SOAKING US IN THE FACE!!! I mean it felt like a water hose! ( I still feel sticky!)
Life is messy. I could have chosen to be mad first thing this am but I did not. I could have pitched a HISSY FIT at Pulix but I chose not to. I could have cried over getting sprayed in the face (or thrown a few choice words). I laughed instead.
We all have choices to make. Do I always make the right ones? Uh, BIG FAT NO!! I just try to do the best I can given the circumstances. And sometimes what you see is not always what someone else sees. Perceptions are different as well depending on how you are looking at a situation/picture

Just a few thoughts on being real.
But despite the recent debacles, we have had some fun....

Just keeping it real for y'all!

I LOVE Birthdays!!
And we celebrated a big one this week! Number one son turned 17!!! One of my dearest friends from back home wrote on his FB wall about remembering him being born and his homecoming! His first few days of his life were STRESSFUL! We spent a couple of days at the local children's hospital but thankfully all was fine. He is such a delightful ( can you say that about a guy?) young man. I could not be more proud of him and ALL he has accomplished in his 17 years! I guess I would have to be most proud to know that he is a "Kingdom kid" and he delights in The Lord. All the other stuff is just that, stuff. I know he has eternal life and nothing is better than knowing that about your child especially in light if today's tragedy. I pray for all those taken today. Yet even though we SO DO NOT understand the "why's" I can take comfort in knowing my God is bigger than that and has not changed from who he has ALWAYS BEEN.
Here are a few pics of the B'day festivities:

Just a few if the pics from my phone!
Happy Weekend! Lots of Christmas festivities this weekend... Gotta go get gussied up and out of my workout/paint clothes!!

Too Funny not to Share!!
Twas the night of the Championship, and all through South Beach, Notre Dame fans were saying, "Another title's in reach!" The luck of the Irish had carried them through, with wins over Pittsburgh and even Purdue. The Domers were nestled all snug in their seats, with visions of crystal... just one team to beat! And I in my houndstooth and crimson and white, knew for the Irish, it could be a long night. When out of the tunnel there arose such a thunder. Fans stood to their feet with amazement and wonder. The ground shook like an earthquake had just hit the field, and I felt Irish fear begin to build. They scattered and looked for some place to hide, as the announcer proclaimed, "AND HERE COMES THE TIDE!" I sang "Yea Alabama," yes I sang every word, as Notre Dame marvelled at the elephant herd. Led by a man both lively and quick, everyone knew that he was Saint Nick. More rapid than eagles, his coursers the came..... He whistled and shouted and called them by name. "Now Lacy! Now Milliner! McCarron and Fluker! On Barrett! On Mosley! On Yeldon and Cooper!" " Miami is where Notre Dame's luck shall end. The BCS trophy is ours to defend!" Then after the kickoff, a beating began. The Irish now knew that they were out-manned. They tried to get going, but never could start. They were simply no match for the defence of Smart. Brian Kelley cried out, "This just isn't fair! Saban was given a month to prepare!" But his cries were not heard, they fell on deaf ears. "We have to adjust! We have to switch gears!" Then Notre Dame ran what nobody expected. They faked the reverse, but the pass was deflected. The ball was picked off! The crowd let out a roar, as the Bama defender walked in for the score. Saban spoke not a word to his crimson machine. As the seconds ticked off, to number 15. If one thing was learned in Miami that night, it's that you don't bring a leprechaun to an elephant fight. And I heard the crowd yell to the losers in blue, "We just beat the hell outta you!"
