Small town living

So my sweet friend Emily and i are comparing weeks last night at the swim meet. Our local FAVORITE Celebrity Chef walks by and says,

"Hey ladies, how's it goin'?"

I immediately reply, "good" and my friend says, "Yea, good."

He walks off and I say, "We TOTALLY just lied to him!!" "I know, but you said it was all good so I was going with it," replies Emily. "

"I think we need to come clean.. I think a fabulous Panini Sandwich would be just the thing!" So off we go....

Emily tells him..."We totally just lied to you; we have had a crappy week."

"What can I do to help?" AHhhhhhhhhhhh the words we were so hoping to hear...

"The Emily sandwich," Emily replies. "You have some portabello's right?"

"Sure..." as he procedes to tell us what other YUMMY things he will put on there for her. "And for you?"

"Oh, I will have the same, please..." {as I drool just thinking about that mushroom on that bread :o) }

So today we are off to lunch... which comes at a good time as the road construction yet again blocked me from getting to the Y in time for my PILATES class. I am glad I am not prone to road rage {YET} or those road workers would have gotten an ear full!! At least now I can be clean and cute for lunch!! ;o)

Weekends go too FAST...

But we have had a great one... starting with ABSOLUTELY nothing to do FRIDAY night. Really, not one thing! I made dinner of fish, okra, roasted potatoes and home made rice krispie treats for dessert. Number 1 son worked on HW b/c he knew he would be busy on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday swimming for the boys and running literally for me. I am trying to get in shape for running a half in December. So I ran 3 days this week and Pilate's twice. I will be able to run more this week so the "serious" training starts tomorrow. I'm not going for time just to be able to run for that period of time. Last time I ran one was MANY moons ago and my times were 2hrs 13 min and 2hrs 6 min. I think maybe 2hrs 30min may be more realistic. Or slower who knows. It's a flat out and back course... we shall see. After my run I volunteered to work a local craft festival with JA. Did a little shopping while there :o).. then it was off to watch boys in their intra squad meet. Then the RAIN CAME!!! WOW!!! Of course we had to get home in time to watch the ONLY game that mattered this week.. ALABAMA v. ARKANSA... and can I just say a BIG ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!! My nails are shorter but wow!! I love my guys. I had to listen to the last bit on the radio b/c McSweetie and I had a date night compliments of my in-laws, tix to see Hank Jr. and Gretchen Wilson... And it sure was nice to cut loose!! I was definitely a REDNECK woman...

but today I was the High Class Broad, because we surprised my MIL with being at their church this am to celebrate their 49th Wedding Anniversary. My SIL drove down just for the day. Then we all went to the house to eat lunch. What a fun time we had talking about fun memories. Now that we are home I am trying to catch up on laundry and such so I too can make it to 49 years of WEDDED BLISS!!

Boys are working on HW.. and I mean all the boys. Number 1 is having a study party, Number 2 is working on a project and McSweetie is looking at drawings for a new job he will be working on in about a month.

I hate to wish a week away but I am soooo looking forward to next weekend, Couples getaway to New Orleans... Never been before so I cannot wait!!

Ok, so off I run to get my HW done. Have a wonderful week!

Homecoming 2010 and LIfe in General...

Ok, so I haven't been able to log into my account and now my uploading pictures is going CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Homecoming was such fun... for me and Number 1. From dressing up each day, parade, pep rally, Football game, dinner and a dance.... sorta made me want to go back and do it all again. I had such fun with my HS friends. Pep rallies and dancing to all the songs... Hanging signs and painting parties... wow... it was such fun then. And it is FUN now watching it all over again!!

Number 1 went with a group of friends. There was a dinner for 8 at his friend Annie's house. We moms served them all the different courses. It was so cute to see them try food they normally may not would eat. Only one seemed to be a pretty picky eater. {He and I would have been tight!!}

Then it was off to the dance. {No pics of that of course...}

Sunday was a busy day as well because Number 1 son has a job... Assistant for the NLJC classes that have started in our area. And Number 2 has the privilege of attending these classes. I hear through the grapevine that "it stinks having your brother here!!" But I know they will both get so much out of these Sunday afternoons. WE moms were having a ball watching all the nervous boys walk in. The girls were shy... but I hear that all the classes were great!!

All weeks seem to be so busy with swimming, running, rehearsing, football games... i seem to lose track of our coming and goings sometimes. But we are surviving. And in the midst of the crazy we are having fun... Like I say it is JUST ANOTHER DAY ON THE BAY!! Crazy and all!!

Oh, and Happy Fall Y'all!! Now for some cooler weather for this PE teacher :o)
