So Number 1 Son wanted to get a head start on his summer reading so we stopped at Barnes and Noble on our way home from our Memorial Day adventure. His mandatory book to read is THE BOOK THIEF by Marcus Zusak. Then he had to choose one other from a list. Had it been me choosing I would have picked MY LOSING SEASON by Pat Conroy. He chose THE PAINTED HOUSE by John Grisham. I am a fan of John Grisham but I LOVE Pat Conroy. So I decided that I would bag that one for myself. Then Number 2 son said he had never read THE LORD OF THE RINGS by JRR TOLKEIN so he bagged that one for himself.
As I was browsing the summer reading table I also noticed the book CONFEDERACY OF DUNCES by John Kennedy Toole Which a friend had recommended to me so I grabbed it too. And then I find out that my most favorite author MARY KAY ANDREWS has a new novel coming out June 7, SUMMER RENTAL. I am excited to get that as well.
So those are the new books on my nightstand to accompany the ones that I have already started.... THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNETS NEST by Steig Larsson, DEAD IN THE FAMILY by Charlaine Harris, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS by JK Rowling,(to refresh myself before the final movie) and lastly PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen.

I want to read Pride and Prejudice and maybe East of Eden this summer. Reading isn't my big thing but once I'm hooked into the book, I'm obsessive til the story ends. You are motivating me! ttyl, J
