I May Regret...

that i have spent so much time away from my blog. So much has happened since my last posting. some good... some not so good.

Let's start with the good...

number 1 son was inducted into the National Honor Society

my parents came for a visit...

mine and mcsweeties 19th anniversary...

halloween parties...

anniversary {belated} celebration dinner...

Now the not so good...

hospital visits...

parents came for a second visit... {not good}

FIL's funeral

Now the bittersweet...

McSweetie, his mom, brother, sister and his parent's pastor were all with him when he passed. My MIL came out and said, "it was the sweetest thing.... NOW get me out of here!" Oh.. it was a tough couple of weeks of hospital visits, family coming in... the not knowing.... and then finally a sweet passing. Oh he is SORELY, DEEPLY, TRULY missed! And it hasn't even been two weeks. You think because you have time to "prepare" it is easier. NO the loss is still the same empty feeling. Fifty years of marriage they had. Such a wonderful example of loving your spouse... loving your family... working hard... enjoying hobbies...My kids are lucky to have had such a wonderful POP. Some of our most favorite times in the past year was just going down and talking. Not a huge family affair... just us with his parents... talking about just the day to day stuff... the good and the not so good. Treasured visits for sure.

It will be a tough transition... you want to ask how are you doing... well we all know the answer to that.... CRAPPY!! Oh sure... some days it will be easier than others. But the year of firsts... yep that's tough because all the biggies are just around the corner...Thanksgiving... grandkid's b'days...Christmas... his would have been 73rd Birthday...

But still much to be thankful for.. HE is reunited with his FATHER... friends and family that have gone on before him.. and WE WILL join him one day!!
