Not only has Christmas come and gone but the entire year has completely flown by!! Why is it when we are young time just drags on and on and on... But when we get older, WHEW!! It just FLIES right on by. Makes me sad. Not sad sad just sad...The boys are older... there was no letter to Santa this year... No cookies on a plate, ugh!! But that is not to say that we didn't enjoy our grown up Christmas...
Some traditions stay the same... Christmas Eve with friends and family, by far one of my favorites. We are in our pj's... we have soup and yummy accompaniments, dirty Santa, pictures... but I did miss my group picture this year. Makes me sad.
Christmas Stockings...another favorite. We ALL contribute to the stockings. Oh, and we don't have traditional stockings, BURLAP SACKS my friends!! Don't want to be limited to small items. There is some good stuff that goes in the stockings.
Our Christmas dinner is steaks. DELICIOUS!!
Have to watch our favorite Christmas movies...over and over and over again!!
And the bonus this year was going to church on Christmas Day!
Bittersweet because we were missing a family member this year. His presence was missed deeply.
2012 will be full of changes. Adjustments. Goals. And I look forward to ringing in the New Year with friends. Our tent will be filled with food, fun and good cheer!!
