Let's Get Real, ok?

I laughed this morning in church as our pastor brought up the "Christmas letters" (which by the way I love to receive) and how WONDERFUL everyone's life has been over the past year. He said one year he was feeling melancholy so he wrote about the struggles they had had over that particular year. He received feedback of appreciation for being real! Well here is REAL for me ....

Let's just look at today...

Woke up early for church. Walked into the bathroom and saw the closet door cracked open. Great that only means one thing DISASTER LIES BEHIND THAT CRACKED DOOR!! And sure enough Chloe had wreaked havoc on the remaining stocking stuffers that Annie had not torn up yesterday. sigh

So I was in charge of organizing the Parent/youth luncheon today. I called Publix yesterday to order the sandwich trays... Arrive at 11:00 and my order had been lost. No sandwiches ready for me. Very graciously the asst. Manager asks what time I need them and assures me he will have them ready in 20 minutes and it will be FREE! Sweet!

Ok, so now with sandwiches in tow and the rest of the "fixins" I am at the church unloading my car. Our youth director comes out to help me (dressed in a very nice suit). I grab a bag with drinks in it, which splits open and the drinks spew open COMPLETELY SOAKING US IN THE FACE!!! I mean it felt like a water hose! ( I still feel sticky!)

Life is messy. I could have chosen to be mad first thing this am but I did not. I could have pitched a HISSY FIT at Pulix but I chose not to. I could have cried over getting sprayed in the face (or thrown a few choice words). I laughed instead.

We all have choices to make. Do I always make the right ones? Uh, BIG FAT NO!! I just try to do the best I can given the circumstances. And sometimes what you see is not always what someone else sees. Perceptions are different as well depending on how you are looking at a situation/picture

Just a few thoughts on being real.

But despite the recent debacles, we have had some fun....

Just keeping it real for y'all!
