Sometimes You Just Have to Laugh...

Or you may start to cry!! But God is perfect in His timing and planning so I guess I'll just laugh!!
I got a phone call from McSweetie yesterday morning while in Nashville saying he needed to go to the emergency room. During the night he got up (one of his night terrors) and realized that his back was killing him. He took some medicine and went back to bed. He woke the next morning (Sunday) and couldn't stand up straight. So after calling me and calling a friend at church who is a chiropractor, he went to the ER. Well the doctor just really passed him off and gave him a shot of morphine and something else and 2 prescriptions, told him he couldn't drive and pretty much that was it. Well, thanks to our great friends here, he got a ride home and later a ride to the pharmacy for his meds and the grocery store for some food. He was set. His friend from church called to check on him around 9pm and decided that he needed to see an orthopedic doctor on Monday (today).

So, last night I told McSweetie that Iwould leave my parents around 8:30am which would put me home around 12:30. Well, he called this am around 8:45 and I told him I was about to leave. (I will blame this on the meds) He said< "I thought you were leaving at 8:30." Now normally he wouldn't care if I was late leaving so I thought... I am 15 minutes behind schedule. But I said I have to blow dry my hair then I am out the door. So, 8:49 I am in the ol' car headed south. Made it home with lunch in hand by 1pm. And his Dr. appointment for the x-ray was at 1:45 and then with the doctor at 2:45.

All that said... He has deterioriation in his 5th Lumbar. He is having an MRI tomorrow to be more conclusive. The doctor seems to think that an epidural should be all that is required. He is now taking a steroid that should help and a nerve pain med. The great thing is he has a DR's excuse for work for the next week! If you only knew what a blessing that is!!! Now if I could only hide his laptop and blackberry!!!

I have cooked the man dinner (meat, I need meat he says!!) and I think I am about to go see Mama Mia with the girls!! The boys are gone until Thursday with my parents!! They are having a blast. They went bowling today and I think they are going to go see Rick and Bubba in the am. How fun!! Will post some pics from the weekend later.

Right now it's just good to be home!!
