... a huge mess in my kitchen!!! Monday around 11am we all (annie too) went to the pier to check out what had gone on during the night as Gustav rolled in. I must say I was a little disappointed. All the hype and blah, nothing. Which don't get me wrong, I am glad it was nothing, but if the wind really was 45mph at 3am I slept through it. The water was over the low parts of the pier and they had the duck pond closed for flooding, but that was it!! So that is my first experience with the natural happenings of a hurricane. As far as the interior of my house goes.... different story!! That does look like a hurricane blew through. We had our same friends come over again to play cards and we cooked fajitas for everyone. Yummy, they were good. It had been a long time since we had made them.
Lisa deemed me the "card shark". They taught us a new game and I won!! The first hand I won on my first turn "Is this how you play?" Lisa never even got a turn!! Then we all stayed up until midnight playing Phase 10. Guess who won that!! Ahemmm... That would be me again!! The kids (little kids) played spoons while S and HH walked the neighborhood and just hung out. I do think they ended up playing a few rounds of spoons with the kiddos. Poor McSweetie had to get up and go to work bright and early!! And I was enjoying sleeping in until I got a wake up call at 8:20 am. Thanks, friend!!
Yesterday we went to the Bass Pro Shop. I had R and his friend Crawford while HH's Gigi had the big kids! We all ate in the restaurant (of course at separate tables). Then it was home to get R to f'ball practice.
Guess what it is doing right now!! Yep, RAINING!! I guess it is PE indoors today which means Volleyball which the kids LOVE!!!
Can't believe it is already "Hump Day". Happy Wednesday!!
